About the project

To facilitate the implementation, enhancement and support of departmental application systems and digitalisation projects, including electronic library of the Fire Protection Information, information management systems, enforcement related applications, and other IT projects of the Department.

Duties

(T26) 1. To participate in the implementation, enhancement and support of IT projects related to licensing, fire safety, and other departmental business area; 2. To work with internal teams, users and contractors on different stages of the project implementation of the assigned project, including requirement gathering, system analysis and design, development, procurement, data preparation and migration, testing and production rollout; 3. To prepare and maintain user requirements, technical and project documentation, monitor project progress against milestones, and report potential risks, issues and project delays; 4. To prepare technical specifications for the procurement of necessary IT products and services; 5. To evaluate and test hardware, software, ssystems and other IT products or services; 6. To assist in project management and coordination activities for IT projects in the Department; 7. To participate in the system development, implementation and maintenance of the related project; 8. To work with IT security auditor, contractor and respective application support teams in conducting security risks assessment and audit and implementing the corresponding follow-up actions; 9. To be able to work under pressure, willing to work overtime if required on other ICT related duties; and 10. To perform any other duties related to the above as assigned by the supervisor or the Government Representative from time to time; and 11. To provide on-call technical support duties and perform overtime work, including work outside of normal office hours, on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, as and when necessary and upon the request of the Government Representative.

Other requirements

1. At least three (3) years&;#8217; post-qualification information technology experience of which at least two (2) years&;#8217; working experience in related area; 2. Knowledge and practical experience in the development, implementation and support of mobile application and web-based applications accessible through the Internet and Intranet environments; 3. Practical experience in programming, application development, system integration, database development and related development tools and technologies; 4. Familiarity with web and mobile application architecture and infrastructure; 5. Knowledge of Linux environments, web/application servers, relational databases and SQL; 6. Experience in developing or supporting mobile applications, workflow systems, information management systems, field operation applications, inspection-related applications or similar enterprise applications will be an advantage; 7. Experience in technologies such as NGINX, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL or other comparable web server and relational database technologies will be an advantage; 8. Experience in mobile device integration, peripheral device integration or related mobile solutions will be an advantage; 9. Experience in implementing or supporting HKSAR Government or other large-scale enterprise application systems will be an advantage; 10. Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English; and 11. Security vetting is required.
